ANOTHER TAPESTRY FOR THE KID'S WALL

Just quickly I had to share my latest find from the op shop today....

....isn't she gorgeous! What a character, I had to have her and she was only $4.

The stitching is so incredibly neat and I think it must have been stitched by a left hander as all the stitches run diagonally to the left. I even took a photo of the back just to show how neat it is...

....the backs of mine never look like this!

I will have to try and find a frame for her now.

But in the meantime hubby is hiring a wall steamer on his way home tonight and I will be spending tomorrow stripping wallpaper in the kid's room....

Let the makeover begin!

Guess what has been hiding...

in this crumpled paper bag for the past 12 years.....

...Lady Penelope and Parker...

Poor old things they have been rolled up for so long they are feeling unloved. I do unroll them often to say Hi and I always think 'I must do something with you'.

The trouble is I spent so long stitching them on seriously small tapestry canvas and I like the end result so much I am scared to ruin it. I guess I should just have it framed.....

What do you think?

Car & Caravan tapestry

I have finally hung the tapestry I designed and stitched for my son while he was still in the womb.....
he is nearly 10 months old - I only had to remove a couple of layers of dust!

Here it is - I think it looks soooooo cute (if I do say so myself)...
