Babushka pattern complete & a giveaway

Finally I have finished!!!!
I feel like I have been stitching for months (probably because I have!).

So here is my new completed Babushka Sampler design.....
I would like to say I have been very efficient and whipped out the sewing machine to make it into a cushion but I would be lying! I have just (not so) artfully draped it over a cushion to look like it is one!

Eventually I think it would make a nice cushion or maybe I will stretch it over a canvas....

Anyway the pattern is tried and tested and ready to go and you can find it in my Etsy store here.

But I thought after all my hard work and to thank all my lovely readers that a giveaway was in order.

So I will be giving away the Babushka Cross Stitch pattern to 3 lucky readers. Just leave a comment on how/what/why or where you love to stitch and you will go into the random draw. The pattern is in pdf form so the prizes will be emailed to you which means anyone in the world can enter.

There is one catch however..... I am not drawing the winners until 50 comments have been placed. So round up all your stitching friends and get commenting to be in to win!

  2. Well done you! Think it would look good over a canvas! I love to stitch (when I have time) because it takes me away from my world. I get to just concentrate on what I'm doing and how it looks. Guess it gives me some time out! Hope all is well with you.

  6. Love your tutorial on canvas mounting! I love to cross stitch outside in the sun - it's really relaxing and gives me something to do while catching some rays :P
I love to stitch bright, colourful charts so I can frame them and give them to my loved ones. I suffer from anxiety problems and stitching gives me something to look forward to after work.

Keep up the good work! :)

  10. I love the effect that the colours in the Babushka dolls have on people the world over. I've been looking for a tutorial on mounting on canvas for ages, and spotted this via Craft Gossip. My 2 yr old granddaughter would love me to make this for her bedroom I think!I've just made her a Flower Fairy quilt for her birthday which included a stitched fairy - I just love stitching!

    1. Hi Kim, I like the giveaway!

PS - Was wondering why do you call them Babushka's?
In my language "Babushka" means "Old lady". They are just cute "matreshka" dolls! :-)

      sincerely

  18. Nearly half way there! I haven't done any cross stitch for a while and am searching out lovely patterns - so much choice. Having wee children, I only get to stitch on my lunch break at work :o)

  22. I have Babushka dolls which ive had for years which I adore, but would love to do a cross stitching that I can mount onto my wall. This would be perfect for me as I'm not very good at doing my own patterns from scratch.
